Join Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning musician and cultural practitioner Kuuipo Kumukahi for a special sharing of Hawaiian music and stories in the Imprisonment Room of ʻIolani Palace, where Queen Liliʻuokalani was held captive following the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Through mele, moʻolelo, and the manaʻo woven within them, Kuuipo brings history to life, sharing the voices, experiences, and enduring legacy of our aliʻi. Visitors are invited to listen, reflect, and deepen their connection to Hawaiʻi's rich cultural heritage.
